Community Support
What have you done today to make you feel proud?
Leeds Building Society is proud to sponsor production of a CD by the Leeds Rugby Foundation and the RJP Community Choir singing Heather Small's inspirational hit 'PROUD'. All proceeds from the sale of the CDs go directly to the Sick Children's Trust in Leeds.
The Sick Children’s Trust (SCT) provides high quality 'Home from Home' accommodation for families whose children are receiving hospital treatment for serious illness in Leeds. Their property at Eckersley House has provided accommodation for the families of seriously ill children receiving treatment at St James's Hospital for the past 16 years.
However, St James’s Hospital is moving its children’s wards to the Leeds General Infirmary (LGI) to create a paediatric Centre of Excellence and by July 2010 most children’s wards will have moved to the new centre. This means that the SCT, which will be the sole provider of family accommodation at the LGI, needs to move Eckersley House to a new site just two minutes walk from the new children’s wards.
‘The Big Move’ is costing £1.8 million so they need as much help as possible to raise those vital funds. SCT hopes to raise £10,000 towards this target through sale of the CDs.
